This unification of speaker and listener is actually and extension and enlargement of ourselves, and new knowledge is always gained from this. Moreover, since true listening involves bracketing, a setting aside of the self, it also temporarily involves a total acceptance of the other. Sensing this acceptance, the speaker will fell less and less vulnerable and more and more inclined to open up the inner recesses of his or her mind to the listener. As this happens, speaker and listener begin to appreciate each other more and more, and the duet dance of love is begun again. -M. Scott Peck.

Call no man happy till he is dead.

http://maxioms.com/maxiom/11161

Call no man happy till he is dead.

The foundations of a person are not in matter but in spirit.

http://maxioms.com/maxiom/57410

The foundations of a person are not in matter but in spirit.

Never forget that no military leader has ever become great without audacity.

http://maxioms.com/maxiom/10279

Never forget that no military leader has ever become great without audacity.

Forgiveness is about empowering yourself, rather than empowering your past.

http://maxioms.com/maxiom/65217

Forgiveness is about empowering yourself, rather than empowering your past.

There's not a whole lot of new atoms out there.

http://maxioms.com/maxiom/22425

There's not a whole lot of new atoms out there.

I just gave up on acting for a couple of years until Good Will Hunting came around, and since it ...

http://maxioms.com/maxiom/31162

I just gave up on acting for a couple of years until Good Will Hunting came around, and since it was Gus, it was hard to say no.

The first rule is not to lose. As a defenseman, I look at scoring negatively, but it works both ways. I wonder about the expectations though. I played in Sweden, without a red line, and I don't think the game was faster. On the other hand, I wasn't playing with the best players in the world, as in the NHL. We'll adjust to the new icing rules and in a few years we won't remember what it was like before.
