The load, or weight, or burden, of my neighbour's glory should be laid daily on my back, a load so heavy that only humility can carry it, and the backs of the proud will be broken. It is a serious thing to live in a society of possible gods and goddesses, to remember that the dullest and most uninteresting person you talk to may one day be a creature which, if you saw it now, you would be strongly tempted to worship --or else a horror and a corruption such as you now meet, if at all, only in a nightmare. All day long we are, in some degree, helping each other to one or other of these destinations. It is in the light of these overwhelming possibilities, it is with the awe and the circumspection proper to them, that we should conduct all our dealings with one another, all friendships, all loves, all play, all politics. There are no ordinary people.

You have got to discover you, what you do, and trust it.

http://maxioms.com/maxiom/64225

You have got to discover you, what you do, and trust it.

There is no basis for any rumors that Steve Case is leaving.

http://maxioms.com/maxiom/34292

There is no basis for any rumors that Steve Case is leaving.

That is why, all the girls in town / Follow you / All around / Just like me / They ...

http://maxioms.com/maxiom/10927

That is why, all the girls in town / Follow you / All around / Just like me / They long to be / Close to you / On the day that you were born the angels got together / And decided to create a dream come true / So they sprinkled moon dust in your hair and golden starlight in your eyes of blue...

Simplicity is making the journey of this life with just baggage enough.

http://maxioms.com/maxiom/56353

Simplicity is making the journey of this life with just baggage enough.

Nothing is terrible except fear itself.

http://maxioms.com/maxiom/21215

Nothing is terrible except fear itself.

Iran is striving to take a dominant position in the region, and its nuclear program is the most suitable means ...

http://maxioms.com/maxiom/28851

Iran is striving to take a dominant position in the region, and its nuclear program is the most suitable means of achieving this.

Better be courted and jilted Than never be courted at all.

http://maxioms.com/maxiom/62013

Better be courted and jilted Than never be courted at all.

Men are men before they are lawyers, or physicians, or merchants, or manufacturers; and if you make them capable and ...

http://maxioms.com/maxiom/26273

Men are men before they are lawyers, or physicians, or merchants, or manufacturers; and if you make them capable and sensible men, they will make themselves capable and sensible lawyers or physicians.

When freedom prevails, the ingenuity and inventiveness of people creates incredible wealth. We cannot form a conception of Eternal Life. What we imagine is ever simply of the earth, temporal, worldly. Nor could we know anything about our eternal life if it had not appeared in Jesus Christ. In him we realize that we were created for the eternal life. If we ask, what is this eternal life? what sense is there in thinking about it if we can have no conception of it?, the answer is, "It is life with God, in God, from God; life in perfect fellowship." Therefore it is a life in love, it is love itself. It is a life without the nature of death and sin, hence without sorrow, pain, anxiety, care, misery. To know this suffices to make one rejoice in eternal life. If there were no eternal life, this life of time would be without meaning, goal, or purpose, without significance, without seriousness and without joy. It would be nothing. That our life does not end in nothing, but that eternal life awaits us, is the glad message of Jesus Christ. He came to give us this promise as a light in this dark world. A Christian is a man who has become certain of eternal life through Jesus Christ.

Three things give us hardy strength: sleeping on hairy mattresses, breathing cold air, and eating dry food.

http://maxioms.com/maxiom/57963

Three things give us hardy strength: sleeping on hairy mattresses, breathing cold air, and eating dry food.
