TheChrysalis moved its tail, and thus attracted the attention of the Ant,who then saw for the first time that it was alive. Poor, pitiableanimal! cried the Ant disdainfully. What a sad fate is yours! While I can run hither and thither, at my pleasure, and, if I wish, ascend the tallest tree, you lie imprisoned here in your shell, withpower only to move a joint or two of your scaly tail. The Chrysalisheard all this, but did not try to make any reply. A few days after, when the Ant passed that way again, nothing but the shell remained.Wondering what had become of its contents, he felt himself suddenlyshaded and fanned by the gorgeous wings of a beautiful Butterfly.Behold in me, said the Butterfly, your much-pitied friend! Boastnow of your powers to run and climb as long as you can get me tolisten. So saying, the Butterfly rose in the air, and, borne alongand aloft on the summer breeze, was soon lost to the sight of theAnt forever.Appearances are deceptive.

The sculptor produces the beautiful statue by chipping away such parts of the marble block as are not needed - ...

http://maxioms.com/maxiom/3327

The sculptor produces the beautiful statue by chipping away such parts of the marble block as are not needed - it is a process of elimination.

If we put all this on the menu, it would look like all the other places where you have to ...

http://maxioms.com/maxiom/33302

If we put all this on the menu, it would look like all the other places where you have to squint to read it.

Eighty percent of married men cheat in America. The common basis of their life was the conviction that they enjoyed a new relationship with God, for which they were indebted to Jesus. The technical term for this relationship was "covenant", and "covenant" became eventually in their vocabulary "testament". Hence the later name for these writings of the church, when gathered into a sacred collection, was "The New Testament" -- New because the older relationship of God to his people, which had obtained under Judaism, with its Old Testament was superseded by the faith and fellowship which Jesus Christ his Son had inaugurated. It was the consciousness of this that inspired the early Christians to live, and to write about the origin and applications of this new life. They wrote for their own age, without a thought of posterity, and they did not write in unison but in harmony.

I thought we passed up a lot of good pitches to hit.
